Our work


DEMADES project is a forward-looking research initiative focused on developing advanced nanostructured electrocatalysts for green hydrogen production. Operating at Technology Readiness Level 3 (TRL 3), the project aims to demonstrate proof-of-concept through both analytical and experimental methods. Utilizing eco-friendly deep eutectic solvents (DESs), particularly those based on choline chloride, the team synthesizes and optimizes novel catalysts composed of Ni, Co, Mo, Fe alloys, and S, P-containing composites. These catalysts are applied to metal and carbon-based foam substrates to enhance electrocatalytic activity and stability in water-based alkaline solutions. Comprehensive electrochemical evaluations, including measurements of catalytic activity, Faradaic efficiency, and durability, are conducted to assess performance. A life cycle assessment is also performed to evaluate the environmental and economic sustainability of the developed processes. The project emphasizes the formation of theories describing the relationship between catalyst composition, structure, and efficiency, which are validated experimentally. Scalability studies are undertaken to assess the feasibility of industrial implementation. Collaboration among experts in materials science, electrochemistry, catalysis, and chemical engineering ensures a multidisciplinary approach. Through these efforts, DEMADES contributes to advancing knowledge in electrocatalysis and supports the transition towards sustainable hydrogen production.

DEMADES Project Team Begins Joint Testing of Novel Electrochemical Treatments with Singapore Partners

On 27/11/25, the DEMADES project team members have started joint testing of various electrochemical treatments developed at CEMEA SAS in collaboration with partners from Singapore.

This marks a significant step in international cooperation and technology transfer, opening new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of cutting-edge solutions.

On 25/11/25 DEMADES project team members had the incredible opportunity to participate in the semifinal of the Challenger Science Program, organized by ESET, Civitta, and their partners. The experience was truly inspiring.

The atmosphere was warm, supportive, and collaborative; all participants didn't feel like competitors, but like part of one big team of friends. During the semifinal, all presented their ideas, work, teams, business plans, and their vision for the future. It was both exciting and motivating to respond to the jury's questions, challenge ourselves in front of a larger audience, and learn more about the remarkable work of all participating teams.

DEMADES project team members are thrilled to share that their team has been selected for the final, an honor that allows them to stand alongside so many talented and inspiring innovators. Programs like this fuel their motivation to grow, improve, and continue advancing on their entrepreneurial journey.

DEMADES project team demonstrates that scientific expertise can reach far beyond routine laboratory work and deliver practical, high-value solutions to real industrial players.

Under the leadership of CEMEA, DEMADES team is actively breaking traditional barriers between research environments and industry expectations. On 12 November 2025, Assoc. Prof. Mgr. Anna Kityk, PhD, as the leader of DEMADES project team, participated in an important meeting with representatives from French Embassy and Institut Français in Bratislava. The discussions focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration between DEMADES project members and French research institutions, intending to foster innovative partnerships in the field of our research activities.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged ideas on potential joint initiatives, research collaborations, and knowledge-sharing programs. The discussions highlighted the importance of international cooperation in advancing scientific research and creating synergies that can contribute to impactful outcomes in our respective domains.

Košice Team of DEMADES Presents Research and Collaboration Opportunities at Traditional Day of Open Doors (12 November 2025)


On 12 November 2025, within the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia, Institute of Materials Research of Slovak Academy of Sciences (ÚMV SAV, v. v. i.) in Košice opened its doors to the public as part of the traditional Day of Open Doors.

In the innovative electrotechnical laboratory, the Košice team of DEMADES project presented ongoing research focused on the development of advanced nanostructured electrocatalysts for green hydrogen production. This work is part of the research initiative Development of advanced nanostructured materials for electrocatalysis using environmentally friendly deep eutectic solvents, financed by European Union through the Recovery and Resilience Plan of Slovak Republic.

Visitors learned about the principles of green chemistry, the fundamentals of electrocatalysis, and the nanostructuring techniques used in the preparation of new, efficient, and sustainable catalysts. These materials are based on Ni, Co, Mo, Fe, and composites containing sulfur and phosphorus, and are designed to replace expensive platinum-based electrodes.

DEMADES project connects research teams from different regions of Slovakia, ensuring a multidisciplinary collaboration among specialists in materials science, electrochemistry, catalysis, and chemical engineering. The Košice team actively participates in research, dissemination of results, and outreach activities, strengthening cooperation between institutions and engaging the public in modern scientific challenges.

The participation of DEMADES team in this event demonstrated the project's commitment to promoting science, innovation, and regional cooperation as key components of Slovakia's path toward a sustainable hydrogen economy.



Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists

(11 November 2025) 


The Day of Open Doors at Slovak Academy of Sciences welcomed enthusiastic gymnasium students eager to explore the fascinating world of science and technology. Among the highlights of the event was the presentation by Centre for Advanced Materials Application (CEMEA SAS) together with DEMADES Project, showcasing modern 3D printing technologies and their applications in cutting-edge research.

Visitors had the chance to experience interactive demonstrations of 3D printing with polymer (PLA) materials. Guided by DEMADES project team, young explorers could design and print small parts on-site, witnessing firsthand how digital models become tangible objects.

Our experts also introduced students to the innovative goals of DEMADES project, emphasizing how additive manufacturing technologies, 3D printing, are being utilized for the development of new catalysts for green hydrogen production. This connection between advanced materials, sustainability, and future energy technologies inspired many of the young attendees to consider careers in science and engineering.

Through such outreach activities, DEMADES aims to encourage curiosity, creativity, and scientific thinking among young generations, paving the way for the scientists and innovators of tomorrow.



DEMADES Team Attends Workshop on Intellectual Property Protection (4 November 2025) 


DEMADES project team recently participated in an insightful workshop on Intellectual Property (IP) Protection, organized by ESET and Civitta. The session featured an invited international expert who guided participants through the best practices and strategic importance of intellectual property management.

During the workshop, we explored a wide range of essential issues, including:

  • Different types of intellectual property and how to protect them

  • Practical steps to prevent IP from being copied or misused

  • Ways to leverage IP to strengthen market position and access new markets

  • How to transform IP into a strategic and monetization tool

  • The technology transfer process – from an initial idea to a successfully assigned patent

Kick-Off Meeting 


The Innovative Advanced Materials Initiative (IAM-I) is an international non-profit association leading the IAM4EU partnership, which aims to build a Europe-wide, cross-sector R&I ecosystem to accelerate the market uptake of sustainable advanced materials. IAM-I brings together stakeholders across the full materials value chain to foster innovation for a digital and circular economy.

As DEMADES project leader, A. Kityk proudly represents the team within this initiative, focusing on innovative materials for Energy.

On October 8, 2025, A. Kityk participated in the kick-off meeting of the "Energy" team, where members discussed future work plans, clarified their mission, and set directions for collaboration. DEMADES Project Team at Challenger Science Workshop: From Research Idea to Business (7/10/2025)


It has already become a great tradition for our DEMADES project team to take part in Challenger Science workshops, and this week was no exception!
On October 7, 2025, we joined the inspiring session "Identifying Commercial Opportunities & Lean Startup", led by Vojtech Kadlec. The workshop was an in-depth exploration of the innovation process, examining how to assess the added value of our ideas, enhance manufacturing, strengthen branding and marketing, and establish a solid foundation for commercial success.
A highlight of the day was the discussion around Cambridge Radar, a practical tool that helps evaluate the level of innovation and identify areas for improvement. Through interactive exercises, teamwork, and engaging discussions, we gained valuable insights into transforming innovative ideas into impactful business solutions.
We are excited to continue our journey from idea to business together with ESET and Civitta, and to keep pushing the boundaries of innovation within DEMADES project!

Workshop on Customer Discovery with KU Leuven Technology Transfer Expert 


On 30 September 2025, DEMADES project team participated in an insightful workshop on Customer Discovery, led by Zuzana Kasanova, Business Development Manager at KU Leuven (Belgium).
The session introduced to our team key concepts in:
-Identifying and searching for potential customers;
-Effective communication and interaction strategies;
-Improving approaches to building and maintaining customer relationships.

For us, as patent holders and innovators, these insights are particularly valuable in learning how to present and commercialize intellectual property results, as well as in developing spin-offs and start-ups. Understanding customer needs and engagement strategies is crucial in bridging the gap between groundbreaking research and real-world market applications.


This workshop directly supports the mission of DEMADES project. By integrating business development skills with our scientific expertise, we strengthen our ability to bring sustainable and scalable solutions to society.

DEMADES & CEMEA SAS at European Researchers' Night 2025 

The European Researchers' Night 2025 once again brought science closer to the public, offering an inspiring mix of national and international research projects presented in an engaging and accessible way. This year's theme, CHAOS: Searching for Order in an Unpredictable World, highlighted how science and technology can uncover hidden patterns and provide solutions to challenges that may appear unpredictable or uncertain.

The DEMADES project team, CEMEA SAS, proudly participated in this prestigious event with two interactive presentations, showcasing bold ideas for the future of space exploration.

1st Interactive presentation: 🌌 Martian Sands – Oxygen and Water Beyond Earth

One of humanity's greatest challenges in space is ensuring access to oxygen and water. Martian rock, containing more than 25% oxygen by weight, offers a promising solution. By extracting oxygen as a by-product in the production of metals through melt chemistry, researchers are developing sustainable methods to support human life beyond Earth.

At European Researchers' Night 2025, visitors joined a lively scientific discussion and experienced a hands-on demonstration led by DEMADES project member Viliam Pavlík (CEMEA SAS), exploring:

  • Hydrogen and oxygen production

  • Martian soil sample analysis

2nd Interactive presentation: 🏗️ Lunar Bricks & Martian Concrete – Building the Future Together

Can we build on other planets without transporting materials from Earth? Our second presentation explored how 3D printing with extraterrestrial soil (regolith) could allow the construction of sustainable habitats on the Moon and Mars.

During the event, participants saw 3D-printed models of lunar and Martian dwellings, even took home their own piece of space architecture, and learn how minerals like aluminum, iron, and calcium oxides, together with confirmed water sources, could enable future colonization projects.

CEMEA SAS team presented this project in an interactive, engaging format, covering topics such as:

  • Cement mixture development

  • Material corrosion analysis

  • Electrochemical processes

🌟 DEMADES Commitment to Science Popularization

Both projects were supported by the Small Grant Scheme of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, aimed at promoting science in Slovakia. On September 26, 2025, the DEMADES project team had the pleasure of participating in the Innovation and Digital Transformation Conference, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bratislava.

This dynamic event brought together leading experts from science, entrepreneurship, the business sector, banking, finance, and IT. It created a unique platform for lively discussions on the most advanced innovations and the many ways digital transformation is reshaping industries to make them more efficient, competitive, and sustainable.

A key focus of the conference was the role of artificial intelligence (AI) as a true game-changer. AI-driven technologies, digital resources, and laboratory automation are now at the forefront of scientific and technological progress, offering unprecedented opportunities for transformation. These advancements are also central to the mission of the DEMADES project.

For our team, the conference provided valuable insights into the latest global trends in IT, financing, and startups—all of which are crucial to our ambition of developing cutting-edge technologies and successfully bringing them to market.

DEMADES project and Hydrogen Strategy for Slovakia: 3rd Hydrogen Workshop in Bratislava 24/09/2025


Hydrogen strategy is of crucial importance for Slovakia, both as part of the European Union's broader decarbonization concept and as a pillar of the country's energy independence in times of geopolitical instability.

On September 24, 2025, the 3rd Hydrogen Workshop took place at NH Bratislava Gate One, bringing together experts, policymakers, and researchers to discuss the most pressing hydrogen-related issues in Slovakia. Topics ranged from legislative frameworks, safe utilization, and efficient production methods with minimal resource waste, to the future prospects of hydrogen as the cleanest gas and the potential for producing green hydrogen through electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources.

Participants of DEMADES project were actively engaged in the workshop. Their presence ensured close monitoring of all discussions to understand better the key challenges and opportunities facing the hydrogen industry. The project's involvement highlights the importance of innovative solutions and collaborative approaches that can enhance the efficiency and sustainability of hydrogen production.

Special thanks go to Julia Kotulová (Earth Science Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences) for her insightful speech on the importance of science funding in hydrogen-related research and development. As she emphasized, science is undoubtedly the key to solving the challenges of the hydrogen economy.

Challenger Science Workshop: Exploring Design Thinking 


On September 23, a new session of the Challenger Science program took place, organized by Civitta and ESET, with DEMADES project team actively participating.

The highlight of the meeting was an engaging workshop on Design Thinking led by Adam Brocka. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of design thinking, an approach that encourages a holistic view of problems, in-depth analysis, and the identification of effective solutions. Special attention was given to active listening, empathy in client communication, and the ability to design products that meet real customer needs and create genuine market value.

The workshop also emphasized how constraints can stimulate innovation, as well as the importance of teamwork, efficient communication, and achieving goals collaboratively. Such skills are essential in the ongoing effort to commercialize scientific solutions and successfully bring products to market.

The session concluded with an inspiring talk from Pavol Turčina, CEO of GO SPACE LABS, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and insights into building a successful company. His story served as strong motivation for participants, reinforcing the belief that today's efforts may one day evolve into tomorrow's success stories.

DEMADES Project Team Opens New Horizons in the Challenger Science Program


On 16 September 2025, the Challenger Science Program, organized by ESET and Civitta, officially began and our DEMADES project team (ElectroChemTech) is proud to be part of this inspiring initiative.

This unique program offers a journey from research to real-world impact. What could be more valuable than learning how to:

  • turn a research idea into a strong business plan,

  • develop public speaking skills,

  • present research in the most engaging way,

  • design a market-ready product,

  • connect freely with potential partners,

  • and build an attractive and sustainable business?

We were inspired by powerful talks from outstanding lecturers, met amazing people from different research areas and industries, and gained valuable insights from ESET and Civitta experts.

DEMADES Project at IAM-I Working Groups Meeting


4.09.2025 DEMADES project, represented by project leader Anna Kityk, participated in the IAM-I (Innovative Advanced Materials Initiative) working groups meeting. IAM-I is an international non-profit association driving the IAM4EU partnership, with the goal of creating a Europe-wide, cross-sector R&I ecosystem that accelerates the market uptake of sustainable advanced materials. It brings together stakeholders across the entire materials value chain and researchers to support innovation for a digital and circular economy.

During the meeting, participants focused on establishing the structure and functioning of IAM-I working groups, including:

  1. Defining work processes and reporting systems;
  2. Assigning responsible persons for each working group;
  3. Planning the next steps for the initiative.

The IAM-I working groups cover key topics across advanced materials innovation:

DEMADES Project at Slovak Hydrogen Workshop –

24 September


The DEMADES project team will participate in the final session of a series of hydrogen-focused workshops, organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic in collaboration with the National Hydrogen Association of Slovakia, taking place in Bratislava on 24 September.

The workshop will focus on:

Legislative updates and national hydrogen support policies

Strategic planning for Slovakia's hydrogen ecosystem up to 2050

Regulatory frameworks, technical standards, safety, and permitting for hydrogen infrastructure

Participation in this event will allow DEMADES to stay updated on the latest hydrogen-related developments, ensuring our research on novel electrocatalysts using eco-friendly Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs) aligns with national and EU goals. Insights from the workshop will support the project's mission to advance clean, sustainable hydrogen production, contributing to the EU Green Deal, EU Hydrogen Strategy, and global decarbonization efforts.

Advanced Electrochemical Training Course for DEMADES Project Team


On August 29th, the Center for Advanced Materials Application (CEMEA SAS) had the pleasure of hosting participants from DEMADES project for an intensive, one-day training course in our Advanced Electrochemical Engineering Laboratory. Led by DEMADES project leader, Assoc. Prof. Anna Kityk, PhD, the course focused on key aspects of green hydrogen production.

The session integrated theoretical principles with hands-on practice, covering the following:

Electrocatalysis Fundamentals: A review of the Hydrogen and Oxygen Evolution Reactions (HER and OER), including key concepts like overpotential and catalyst design strategies.

Catalyst Synthesis: A practical session on electrodeposition, allowing participants to synthesize nickel-based alloys and composites.

Advanced Characterization: Participants learned how to analyze catalyst properties, such as corrosion resistance, using electrochemical measurements.

Performance and Durability: The day concluded with a deep dive into measuring catalytic activity and stability through various electrochemical tests.

The goal of this program was to provide DEMADES project team with a solid foundation in experimental electrochemistry, thereby driving the project's success in developing next-generation electrocatalysts for efficient green hydrogen production.



DEMADES Project Team Has Won ESET Challenger Science Grant


We are excited to announce that the DEMADES project team has been selected to receive a grant for participation in the Challenger Science program, a special initiative by ESET aimed at helping scientists in Slovakia develop their entrepreneurial potential.


The program offers an intensive combination of workshops, networking opportunities, and personalized guidance to support researchers in:

-Developing entrepreneurial thinking and skills;
-Building relationships with partners and potential customers;
-Identifying opportunities for commercialization;
-Preparing impactful presentations.
Participants will also benefit from individual mentoring and coaching, ensuring that their innovative research ideas have the best chance to reach real-world impact.

The program is organized in partnership with Civitta, an organization with extensive experience in mentoring startups, and supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
With only 30 spots available nationwide for PhD students and senior researchers from Slovak educational and research institutions, our selection marks an important milestone for DEMADES.

We look forward to leveraging this opportunity to bring our research closer to practical applications and to strengthen its societal impact.

From July 14th to 18th, 2025, the Center for Advanced Materials Application (CEMEA SAS) welcomed a group of bright, curious students to take part in the Summer School of Young Scientists, a week filled with discovery, creativity, and hands-on science. The DEMADES project team was proud to play an active role in this inspiring initiative, helping to ignite a passion for research in the minds of the next generation.

The DEMADES project team aims to create innovative materials and technologies that support sustainable development. As part of this mission, we believe it's essential to engage young minds and share the excitement of scientific discovery.

Throughout the summer school, our team prepared a wide range of activities that demonstrated the magic of science.

🔍 A Week of Exploration and Wonder

Each day offered a new adventure into the world of science:

🌡 High-temperature experiments – Students observed glass production, the colorful burning of metals, and the thermal decomposition of silver nitrate (AgNO₃), and even took home their silver souvenirs.

Low-temperature magic – Experiments with liquid nitrogen amazed students with its strange and spectacular properties.

Electrochemistry in action – Participants constructed their electrolyzers, learning how clean energy can be produced using simple materials.

🧲 Hands-on materials science – From ferrofluid play to 3D printing with plastic filaments, students explored how materials behave and are shaped for everyday and high-tech applications.

The DEMADES project continues to build strong bridges between research excellence and industrial practice.

These new partnerships mark a significant step toward bringing cutting-edge research closer to real-world applications. SCI-CONNECT 2025: A Scientific Picnic That United Minds and Sparked Ideas
Organized by CEMEA SAS – 25.06.2025

Science should unite. It should inspire, spark dialogue, and remain open and accessible to all who are curious and passionate. This vision came to life at SCI-CONNECT 2025, an informal scientific picnic held under the open sky and organized by CEMEA SAS in collaboration with the DEMEDES project team.

The event brought together a diverse group of participants: researchers from the DEMEDES project, key scientific teams from CEMEA SAS, international guests, partners from various institutes of Slovak Academy of Sciences, and many other distinguished contributors. It was a true celebration of science in its most human form - collaborative, joyful, and deeply engaging.

Guests enjoyed a vibrant program featuring short scientific talks, informal discussions, live music, and excellent food. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged open dialogue, fostered cross-disciplinary connections, and inspired the exchange of ideas in an environment built on curiosity and mutual respect.

An additional highlight of the event was a presentation by the Technology Transfer Office of CEMEA SAS (Director TTO - Mgr. Miroslav Kubiš), offering a detailed overview of the support available for patenting and commercialization of scientific results. It underlined TTO's strong role as a bridge between cutting-edge research and real-world innovation.

An inspiring speech was delivered by RNDr. Veronika Ostatná, PhD (Czech Republic), who reflected on the enduring importance of scientific schools and mentorship. Her message emphasized the value of knowledge transfer between generations and the lasting impact of experienced researchers guiding young talent.

The event also honored the origins of CEMEA SAS, as its founders, RNDr. Eva Majková, DrSc. and Prof. RNDr. Pavol Šajgalík, DrSc., shared personal stories about CEMEA's foundation and development. The center's director, Assoc. Prof. Miroslav Hnatko, PhD, highlighted CEMEA's current achievements, including its dynamic research teams, numerous local and international projects, and growing impact across scientific disciplines.

Adding to the event's significance was the participation of Mgr. Martin Venhart, DrSc., Chairman of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, who expressed strong support for modern, open formats of scientific exchange. He emphasized that the Academy is committed to promoting transparent communication and encouraging researchers to engage broadly with the community.

SCI-CONNECT 2025 was more than just a gathering; it was a powerful statement about the future of science: informal, inclusive, and accessible. It is with great pride that the DEMEDES project has launched this meaningful tradition. Scientific picnics like this one not only unite researchers and the public but also highlight the energy, creativity, and openness that drive discovery forward.

DEMADES Project Showcases Sustainable Surface Engineering at 8CSCS-2025 in Belgrade


✨ DEMADES Project at the 8th Conference of the Serbian Society for Ceramic Materials ✨


We are pleased to share that a DEMADES project team member participated in the 8th Conference of the Serbian Society for Ceramic Materials, held on June 18–20, 2025, in Belgrade, Serbia.

Our team presented an abstract and a presentation devoted to the synthesis of TiO₂ nanotubes on Ti-alloy surfaces using eco-friendly deep eutectic solvents. This innovative approach offers an efficient alternative to conventional methods that rely on toxic electrolytes. The resulting highly developed nanotubular surfaces of Ti-alloys demonstrate excellent properties for electro- and photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reactions (HER). In addition, this surface modification can be utilized for biomedical applications involving titanium and its alloys.

Participation in this international conference was a valuable opportunity to present our project results to the scientific community, where our work was recognized for its high quality and innovative contribution.

We Are Slovak Academy of Sciences: Living Science at Every Cell. DEMADES project at a Flagship Public Event of SAS


On June 13-14, 2025, DEMADES project proudly participated in the event titled "We Are Slovak Academy of Sciences: Living Science with Every Cell" ("We are SAS"). This unique public science festival aimed to bring cutting-edge research closer to the general public, and DEMADES project was right at the heart of it.

Live Hydrogen Production in Action

DEMADES team presented real-time electrolysis demonstrations, showcasing the direct production of green hydrogen from water solution. Visitors were able to see hydrogen being created live, using our specially developed foam electrodes, which served as platforms for:

Strategic Meeting of DEMADES Project Consortium: Advancing Catalytic Innovation Through Interdisciplinary Synergy 


Bratislava, 13 May 2025 — DEMADES project, supported under an interregional collaborative framework, reached a significant milestone today with the coordination meeting held at Centre for Advanced Materials Application of Slovak Academy of Sciences (CEMEA SAS). Under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Anna Kityk, project coordinator, the event gathered researchers from CEMEA SAS, Institute of Electrical Engineering SAS (IEE SAS, Bratislava), and Institute of Materials Research SAS (IMR SAS, Košice) for a productive hybrid meeting.

The primary objective of the meeting was to assess the current progress and to coordinate upcoming scientific and organizational activities. The event facilitated in-depth discussions on experimental methodologies, material synthesis strategies, and the harmonization of research protocols across partner institutions.

Advancing Scientific Synergy

The project team placed special emphasis on the synthesis and characterization of advanced catalytic materials, a cornerstone of DEMADES initiative. Researchers from IMR SAS, with longstanding expertise in catalysis, proposed novel approaches for material development and evaluation, including advanced strategies for structural and surface modification. Simultaneously, CEMEA SAS introduced conceptual frameworks for the use of novel media in catalyst formation, targeting the generation of highly structured nanoarchitectures with enhanced catalytic properties.

IEE SAS contributed by outlining precise protocols for the characterization of catalytic materials, essential for ensuring reproducibility and cross-validation across laboratories. The integration of these approaches is expected to substantially enhance the scientific rigor and impact of the project.

Innovative concepts such as the integration of 3D-structured supports, including foams and porous architectures, were discussed as effective strategies to increase active surface area and facilitate efficient mass transport within catalytic systems. The dialogue highlighted the team's shared commitment to merging fundamental science with applied innovation.

Fostering Collaboration and Open Science

Beyond technical considerations, the meeting served as a platform for deepening interpersonal and institutional connections. Each partner presented their scientific portfolio, allowing for the identification of complementary expertise and the definition of individual roles within the broader project context.

Crucially, the consortium reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of open science, transparency, and public engagement. Plans for future dissemination, outreach activities, and the promotion of accessibility in research were outlined, emphasizing the project's dual mission of scientific excellence and societal relevance.

Outlook

The meeting concluded with a clear roadmap for the next phase of the project. Participants expressed enthusiasm for upcoming joint experiments and co-authored publications, underlining the value of sustained, interdisciplinary collaboration. DEMADES project continues to serve as a dynamic platform for cutting-edge materials research, driven by a collective vision and unified scientific purpose.
